As Head of Television Development for DreamWorks Animation Television, Gal oversees the creative development of a rapidly growing slate of original television projects, including the content for DWA TV’s groundbreaking multi-year deal with Netflix. As part of the studio’s global initiatives, Gal and his creative team are tasked with developing more than 1,600 episodes of original animated programming inspired by characters from DreamWorks Animation’s iconic franchises and upcoming feature films, the company’s vast Classic Media library and Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) properties. Among the series Gal has developed at DWA TV are Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters, a re-imagining of the pop culture phenomenon Voltron Legendary Defender, Emmy®-winning All Hail King Julien,The Adventures of Puss In Boots, DreamWorks Dragons, Dawn of the Croods, Turbo FAST, Dinotrux, Home Adventures with Tip & Oh and the upcoming Spirit Riding Free.
Prior to joining DreamWorks Animation, Gal spent three years as vice president, production, at 20th Century Fox Animation, where he served as production executive on Rio and also developed the popular “Angry Birds”RioEdition game. Gal also spent five years at Nickelodeon, where he was vice president of animation development and developed such original animated series as Penguins of Madagascar, Mr. Meaty, Mighty B!, Making Friends and El Tigre. Gal has also been a development executive at both Walt Disney Animation Television and Disney Channel. He holds a BA from Tufts University and a JD from the University of California’s Hastings College of Law.
