As head of television development for DreamWorks Animation, Peter oversees the creative development of a rapidly growing slate of original television projects, including the content for DreamWorks Animation’s ground-breaking multi-year deal with Netflix. As part the studio’s television initiatives, Gal and his creative team are tasked with developing more than a dozen new series encompassing 1,100 episodes of new programming inspired by characters from DreamWorks Animation’s hit franchises, upcoming feature films, and the company’s vast Classic Media library. Among the series Gal has overseen at DreamWorks Animation are All Hail King Julien, The Adventures of Puss In Boots, Dragons: Race to the Edge, Turbo: FAST, The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show and Dinotrux, the company’s first original TV production for Netflix.
Prior to joining DreamWorks Animation, Gal spent three years as vice president, production, at 20th Century Fox Animation, where he served as production executive on Rio and also developed the popular “Angry Birds” Rio Edition game. Gal also spent five years at Nickelodeon, where he was vice president of animation development and developed such original animated series as Penguins of Madagascar, Mr. Meaty, Mighty B!, Making Fiends and El Tigre. Gal has also been a development executive at both Walt Disney Animation Television and Disney Channel. He holds a BA from Tufts University and a JD from the University of California’s Hastings College of Law.
