With over fifteen years in broadcasting, development and production, Chris joined ABC Children’s Television in May 2012 as Commissioning Editor. Chris is responsible for sourcing, developing and executive producing commissioned content for the ABC’s two dedicated children’s channels, ABC3 and ABC KIDS.
Since joining ABC Children’s, Chris has overseen a number of series for ABC3 and ABC KIDS including The Flamin’ Thongs, which won the 2015 AACTA Award for Best Children’s TV Programme; Flying Bark’s television adaptation of the popular Australian kids book Tashi, as well as the television component of the multiplatform Peleda whose accolades include the 2014 AACTA Award for Best Production Design in Television and the 2014 Kidscreen Award for Best One-Off, Special, TV or Movie. He is currently working on a number of live action and animated series due to launch in 2016 and 2017.
Prior to joining ABC Television, Chris was responsible for new content development at HIT Entertainment and was Executive Producer on the International Emmy Award winning pre-school series Mike the Knight, which he developed. Chris joined HIT from the BBC, where he worked for over a decade in various roles, but principally within the acquisitions teams for CBBC and CBeebies.
