Acing the kids Bechdel Test

An effective tool for ID’ing lopsided gender roles in mainstream cinema, the original Bechdel test answers three sequential questions: Does this movie show… at least two women? …talking to each other? …about something other than a man? But what’s the situation in children’s media? Provocative digital thinker Jens de Pedro (ex-Toca Boca) has come up with a modified version of the Bechdel Test to find out. Listen along as he puts the 20 highest-grossing kids films of all time through the process to see which ones would pass and which ones would fail, as well as exploring the impact this might have on ROI.
