David has managed media enterprises in education, consumer and business-to-business environments, at companies such as Scholastic, Pearson, HMH, School Specialty, Rand McNally and Golden Books. He’s an acute observer of shifts in the educational marketplace, leading businesses and, as consultant, helping clients develop and execute strategies that make the most of their core competencies and market positions, as well as re-shape and manage these organizations. His activities have global reach, but his passion remains improving learning outcomes for disadvantaged children in U.S. schools.
After several years as management consultant at Sandhill, David joins the Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network in September as General Manager- Education.
HITN is a nonprofit 24/7 Spanish language broadcaster carried into 40m US households by most cable and satellite TV providers. It was the lead partner for the “Early Learning Collaborative” awarded the 2010-15 Ready To Learn grant providing funding for “transmedia” resources for preschool children. David is developing the strategy and running the group to leverage these iPad apps and other resources in literacy, ELD and math, plus HITN’s broadcasting capabilities and connections with parties serving the Hispanic community, into a multi-dimensional media enterprise for Latino children and their caregivers.
