Richard K. Collins, co-founder & CEO of Big Tent Entertainment, has operated successfully across many industries in a career spanning over thirty years, much of it in senior management positions.
In 2002 Mr. Collins co-founded Big Tent Entertainment as a boutique agency focused on execution of marketing and licensing strategies for corporate and entertainment-based brands & characters. Since its inception the Company has been central to the successful development and monetization of many brands including iconic Japanese character brand Domo, preschool publishing property Miffy, and PixFusion personalization Apps and Patents. Under his leadership Big Tent Entertainment has grown into a globally recognized leader in the Licensing Industry.
Prior to founding Big Tent Entertainment, Collins was Chief Operating Officer at Golden Books Family Entertainment where he spearheaded a dramatic financial turnaround, including a total revamping of the product line through Licensing.
Before joining Golden Books, Mr. Collins worked in the foods division of consumer product giant, Unilever, where he headed up a Lipton business unit with responsibility for over $1 billion in annual revenues. Prior assignments within Unilever included Information Technology & Marketing. His Unilever career began in the sales & distribution functions at Unilever’s Good Humor Ice Cream business, where he was a key member of the management team.
