Justin Johnson is a filmmaker and entrepreneur known as the “internet’s first video blogger,” whose experience creating popular online content spans over 15 years. He specializes in telling “people-stories” - authentic and heartfelt pieces about interesting people.
Justin started his professional career in 2007 as the Head of Promos and Creative Services Lead at the cutting edge New York City-based web content company Next New Networks. Along with co-founding the Webby-award winning channel Indy Mogul, his work has been viewed hundreds of millions of times across dozens of brands.
When Next New Networks was acquired by Google in 2011, Justin served as the Director of Branding and Packaging for YouTube Next Lab, and was sent around the world to produce and direct short-form documentaries about notable YouTubers for the official YouTube channel.
Since leaving Google and moving to Los Angeles in 2012, Justin and his creative partner Erik Beck have produced for television on Discovery, EPIXhd and CNN’s Headline News, as well as created content for brands like Wired, LEGO, FIAT, Capital One, New Balance, General Mills and more.
His award-winning feature documentary "Double Digits: The Story of a Neighborhood Movie Star" toured the festival circuit and was released on worldwide VOD in December 2015 by industry-leading digital distribution company FilmBuff.
