Tommy leads content strategy and editorial for the U.S. public broadcaster’s slate of children’s programs airing nationally on PBS stations and streaming free on the PBS KIDS app. Tommy oversees production for PBS KIDS — collaborating with producers, PBS station programmers, co-production partners, and distributors — on series including Arthur and its companion podcast, Odd Squad, Peabody-winning Molly of Denali, Alma's Way, and the new series Work It Out Wombats!
Prior to his current role, Tommy served as Director of Children’s Programming for PBS, leading broadcast and rollout strategy for the national children’s service and the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel and live stream. In 2020, he won an Emmy for his work on the special PBS Kids Talk About: Race and Racism.
Originally from eastern Kentucky, Tommy joined PBS in 2009 after stints at the US Senate and NPR.
