Lisa O’Brien is the Vice President of Original Programming & Development for Universal Kids, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s network for kids 2-12. With a fresh mix of animated content, unscripted entertainment, and proven international hits, Universal Kids represents the world of NBCUniversal family brands. In her role, O’Brien oversees the originals team and is responsible for the development of unscripted entertainment, live-action and animated series.
Prior to working at Universal Kids, O'Brien developed a number of preschool programs as an Executive Producer for The Jim Henson Company. She also served as Creative Director at Disney Channel and at FOX Family Channel. O’Brien served as a writer and producer for Disney, Discovery (Mega Movie Magic) and ABC Television (The Branding Factory).
She graduated with a B.A. in broadcast arts from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Canada and now lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband, son and dog.
