Dr. Laura Brown is a licensed psychologist, early childhood expert, and writer who has dedicated her career to supporting children through media. She is the founder of Laura Brown Consulting which creates curricula and outreach and provides formative research and educational consulting for kid-focused brands and content.
Laura has held diverse roles including Curriculum Director, Creative Executive, Research Director, and Educational Consultant on many leading shows including the upcoming Barney’s World, Rubble and Crew, Batwheels, Sago Mini Friends, Vida the Vet, Carmen Sandiego, Go, Dog. Go!, Mighty Express, The Polos, Wallykazam!, Peter Rabbit, The Adventures of Napkin Man!, PJ Masks, The Wonder Pets, Ni Hao, Kai Lan, and the original Blue's Clues. She most recently served as Curriculum Director for Warner Bros. Discovery’s Cartoonito, where she developed and authored the Humancentric Learning Framework, oversaw curricula on all preschool properties, and developed outreach for properties in the U.S. and internationally. Laura’s clients include Netflix, Nick Jr., Disney Junior, Spin Master Entertainment, Mattel, Universal Kids, Amazon Kids, Warner Brothers Animation, Hello Sunshine, Duolingo ABC, and many others worldwide.
In addition to her educational work, Laura is co-author of the environmentally-themed book series, Trillium Sisters, which is licensed by Scholastic Book Clubs. She also has written for Osmo’s Reading Adventure and Corn and Peg.
Laura did her undergraduate work at The University of Pennsylvania, where she studied with the founder of Positive Psychology. This branch of psychology continues to infuse and inspire her work. She holds a PhD in Applied Educational Psychology and an Ed.M. in School Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. Laura is the mother of three grown children and a hilarious rescue pup, Charlie Brown.
