Julian Scott is a BAFTA nominated Executive Producer and Media Consultant and a member of the UK Production Guild. He has been developing, financing, packaging, and co-producing internationally for over 25 years.
He prides himself on spotting strong IP which is both commercially viable and creatively unique. He takes the concept through all stages of its gestation, working with the best creative talent and commercial partners to deliver high-quality, engaging stories on time and within budget.
Working his way up through the production ranks, starting as a third assistant director, he has acted as location manager, first assistant director, post-production supervisor, and line producer on numerous series based in the UK and filmed abroad. He was introduced to the global market when he became Director of International Production for LA-based Walt Disney International Television, overseeing 33 branded shows across the globe.
Subsequent roles as Vice President of Creative Development and Group Vice President of European Operations at Sesame Workshop in New York and then London fine-tuned his skills. In the last few years, based back in the UK, he has overseen the development, financing, production, and exploitation of over 200 episodes of internationally successful series and, more recently, feature films. Scott’s most recent television projects are Who Killed Billie-Jo? for Paramount+ and Willem and Frieda fronted by Stephen Fry for Channel Four.
Putting the story and script firmly in the center of every project he gets involved with, Julian has recently been Co-Executve on To Olivia with Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), and Sam Heughan (Outlander) for Atticus Films and distributed by Goldcrest.
Recent development includes a drama series with Lionsgate written by Jeremy Brock, Last King of Scotland, and a co-venture with David Parfitt’s Trademark Films (The Father, Red Joan, My Week With Marilyn).
Julian was most recently acting COO for KidsCave, an award-winning animation studio with two successful series created and produced for Netflix and he is a consultant for Film London, focusing on generating inward investment for London’s animation studios and community and a business mentor for producers and production companies seeking funding from Creative England.
