Big House Stories

A lapsed Canadian, David Wiebe has spent the last 20 years in the TV Industry as an Executive, a Producer, an Executive Producer, and sometimes a Writer.

Beginning his career at Nickelodeon, David cut his teeth on iconic blockbusters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Fairly Odd Parents and Invader Zim. He subsequently oversaw the Development and Current Series at Kids WB!, Corus Entertainment, and Mattel where he created and produced the global mega-hit Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse. He most recently completed eight years as SVP of Current Series/Franchise at DreamWorks Animation overseeing viewership juggernauts including Boss Baby, Captain Underpants, Spirit Riding Free and many others. He also managed the multi-platform 360 extensions (including publishing, CP, games digital shorts, and more) of DreamWorks’ most popular IP.

David is currently developing and producing over a dozen projects under his own production company, Big House Stories. Focusing on animated and live-action TV properties, David is currently partnering with Universal, Netflix, and Mattel as well as consulting for studios in the US, Canada, France, New Zealand, and frankly, the rest of the world to create character-driven content for family members of all ages.

David lives with his family and way too many dogs in Ann Arbor, Michigan - the Manhattan of the Midwest. He spends his free time convincing anyone who’ll listen, that Ann Arbor IS the Manhattan of the Midwest.
