Steven DeNure

Steven DeNure is a film and television entrepreneur, and long-time film and TV producer. He is a co-founder and a key builder of Wildbrain (formerly DHX Media), where he served for many years as President and Chief Operating Officer before stepping down in 2018.

He was co-founder of Decode Entertainment in 1996, which merged with Halifax Films in 2006 to form DHX Media. Prior to that, he served as President of Alliance Productions, President of Alliance Multi-Media, and Co-Chairman of TMP, a music publisher.

At Wildbrain he was part of the leadership team that took the company public and oversaw the acquisition and integration of more than a dozen companies. He was responsible for the key business units: broadcasting (Family Channel), all content development and production, worldwide distribution and sales, as well as the integration and re-imagining of the iconic Peanuts brand and business, and Wildbrain Spark, which manages content across AVOD platforms.

Steven studied film at Simon Fraser University, graduated with a BA in Economics and Business Administration, and studied French and Art History at the Universite de Grenoble in France.

Steven continues to be involved in the content business, serving as an investor, board member, or advisor to numerous companies, including New Metric Media, Dark Slope Studios/Lumeto, Aux Mode, and Marble Media. He serves on the board of the Canadian Film Centre as Vice Chair and is a Trustee for the Kawartha Land Trust. In the past has served on the boards of the CMPA, the BANFF World Media Festival, and the Youth Media Alliance.
