Jennifer is a Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State University’s Brandywine campus. As the Director of the Brandywine Child Development Lab, she studies how infants and young children learn about the world around them. Through her work exploring topics such as playful learning, the impact of technology on children and families, working memory, mathematical cognition, and language acquisition, she aims to not only contribute to our understanding of cognitive development and its contexts but meet the needs of today’s families. An important part of her professional identity and passion is translating science for families, organizations, educators, and policy makers. Through these efforts, she seeks to empower parents, organizations, decision-makers, and fellow researchers to apply insights from science in their work and lives.
