David is a pioneer of Singapore’s 3D animation industry and a passionate advocate for turning ideas into globally successful IP. As CEO of Tiny Island Productions, he has guided the studio’s hit Dream Defenders to more than 80 countries globally, showcasing Singaporean creativity on the world stage.
He also chairs the Singapore Animators Connection, nurturing talent and shaping the local CGI ecosystem. Today, David is at the forefront of AI-powered animation, running a SkillsFuture, government-subsidized training program that leverages off-the-shelf and open-source AI tools to lower technical barriers, allowing producers to focus on business, storytelling and creativity. He is uniquely versed in AI tools from both the West and China, giving him a global perspective on technology-driven production.
Recently, Tiny Island partnered with industry veteran Amy Takahara’s Sigma Girl Media—Takahara, a former Netflix executive, brings her expertise in kids & family IP—to experiment with AI-assisted pipelines that accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
