Gary started as a school teacher before becoming a learning designer for a change management consultancy. In 2002, he co-founded Kids Industries: The Family Fandom Agency with his wife, Jennifer.
KI develops strategies, brands, products, and content for clients as diverse as Netflix, Danone and McDonald's. Through insight, strategy, and creative execution, KI solves the biggest problems in the family market.
Gary has designed award-winning products for WWF, built Peppa Pig’s global digital presence, and created two children’s TV channels for Al Jazeera. He developed Kellogg's first HFSS-compliant cereal and the Aquafresh range of children's toothpastes, and revamped family offerings for Royal Caribbean Cruises.
He serves as Children’s Ambassador for POC and is an advisory committee member of The Children’s Media Conference. He guest lectures at Oxford and Bauhaus Universities, is a keynote speaker, and contributes to mainstream publications. Gary has been jammy enough to win a few awards and, in 2023, was named “The most influential person in licensing” by his Licensing International peers.
Gary is a father to Daisy and Laurence (as well as Chewie and Lucky) and collects Star Wars UCS LEGO. He remains engaged in education as a school governor.
