Simón started his career as an animator in 2005, then he jumped into executive producer and entrepreneur in 2012 with an international track record across Latin America, North America, and Europe. He is one of the founders of the Santiago ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter in Chile and served three terms as a board member of the Chilean Animation Association, playing a key role in the development of the local industry.
He is the CEO of Pudoctopus Entertainment, a production studio operating in Chile and Canada, specializing in 2D for global entertainment studios and brands.
As an executive producer, Simón has led large international teams and secured major industry partnerships. Notably, he closed two production deals with Cartoon Network: One for the animated adaptation of Papelucho in Chile and another for the development of Mayor y Menor in Argentina.
In 2021, he also formed a joint venture with the Dominican Republic–based Lone Coconut, well known for the collectables Plunderlings, a collectible IP launched in the US territory through Big Bad Toy Store. This long-standing partnership focuses on toy production and IP development, through which they create collectible figure lines and collaborate with studios and brands seeking to build or expand their intellectual properties across both digital and physical platforms.
In 2025, Simón expanded his business footprint into Europe with the establishment of a new company in Tenerife, Spain called Crazy Meerkat, which has already closed two contracts, one for an unannounced Netflix production through a UK company and an animated documentary about cricket.
Simón was a speaker at the World Animation Summit 2022, sharing his experience as a Latin American producer and studio founder in a global forum. He has contributed to industry development as a teacher, course author, and festival juror, supporting emerging talent throughout the Ibero-American animation community.
