Jon Howard is the Executive Product Manager for Digital Creativity at the BBC. In this role he has been developing innovative interactive experiences that allow kids to create exciting digital products at close to the speed of thought. The BBC’s Make It Digital season runs throughout 2015 and aims to inspire the UK to get creative with digital. To achieve this Jon has been working closely with Interactive/TV producers, User Experience designers, the BBC Research and Development department, many of the world's best digital agencies and hundreds of amazing children to innovate ground breaking technologies.
Jon has been at the BBC for over 8 years – he has designed, developed and been tech-lead on hugely successful games and apps for major UK and international kid’s brands including Tree Fu Tom, Scooby Doo, Rastamouse, Shaun the Sheep, Charlie and Lola, Dick and Dom, Horrible Histories, Sarah Jane Adventures, Escape from Scorpion Island and many more. Most recently Jon played a key role in developing and launching the multi-award winning CBeebies Playtime app.
Jon takes a keen interest in game design developments, is a creative innovator, a prolific game prototyper, and an enthusiastic mathematician/statistician with a great passion for BBC Children's, rich media, innovation and technology.
