Paul DeBenedittis is Senior Vice President, Programming Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide. He joined the company in 2008 after 10 years at MTV Networks in New York.
DeBenedittis leads the planning, scheduling, acquisitions and co-production teams in the U.S. and is responsible for over 300 hours of televised programming across the multiple platform kids' TV portfolio: Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior and ABC Kids. His scheduling purview covers all originally-produced series, movies, on-air promos and interstitials, plus the sourcing, negotiation and acquisition of long and short-form kids' programming content for Disney-ABC Television Group, including Disney Channel's learning-focused preschooler block, Disney Junior and Disney XD. He also oversees programming for the non-linear platforms including Disney Channel On-Demand (VOD and SVOD), mobile and onboard airlines, broadband platforms including Disney.com, YouTube and Netflix and electronic sell-through platforms including iTunes, Xbox and Sony.
DeBenedittis also oversees the Disney Channel Worldwide Programming Strategy team, working closely with management, programming and distribution teams on programming strategy across all territories. In addition he leads the team responsible for scheduling all on-air promos and advertising traffic for Disney XD, working closely with Advertising Sales, Marketing and Promotions and On-Air Operations.
DeBenedittis joined The Walt Disney Company from MTV Networks, where he distinguished himself as a leading programmer, having developed some of the most successful scheduling strategies for the teen and young adult demographic. He was most recently Executive Vice President, Multiplatform Programming, Content Strategy and Scheduling for MTV, MTV2, MTVTR3, MTV On-Demand and MTVu. Prior to MTV, he was a programming consultant for Joost and BET Network. Previously he was Director of Programming, Acquisitions and Scheduling at USA Networks and Lifetime Television. He began his career as a Senior Research Analyst at MMT Sales Incorporated.
A native of New York, DeBenedittis graduated St. John's University, New York, with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Marketing. He is a former member of the Board of Governors for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the International Radio and Television Society.
