With the looming launch of Disney's proprietary SVOD and the seemingly unstoppable rise of services like Netflix and Amazon, it’s worth exploring what the kids "network" of the future can, could and should be. A new type of star will be driving it, with new platforms inspiring the invention of new formats, release patterns, marketing strategies and revenue models. Experimentation is already taking place on these fronts, but early efforts have yet to settle into any sort of consensus. What does the grand design look like? Is there one?
