Marie McCann is the Senior Director of Children’s Content at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.  She began her career in television as an actress then went on to major in Cinema Studies and English at the University of Toronto.  After working in independent production, she joined TVO Kids where she developed and launched award winning preschool shows such as “The Nook" and "Gisele’s Big Backyard”.

In 2009 she moved to Kids' CBC where she became an Executive in Charge of Production and Development and launched the Gemini-winning series "Kids' Canada" . Marie returned to TVO for three years to head up Preschool production before returning to CBC to lead the launch of the Studio K brand. In February 2017 Marie was made Senior Director of Children’s Content.
