Katie is celebrating her 30th year in Kids media this year. After an early career as a producer in animation, she has worked across most parts of the kids media business, including distribution, content creation, and ad sales & commercial integration. A large part of her career was forging through the early years of digital content while at Nickelodeon as Director of Digital for a decade. After launching Nick’s first global website (in only 16 colours no less!), and developing many digital firsts for Viacom, (including e-commerce platforms, original red button interactive tv apps) , Katie has also spent time working for The Wiggles on virtual worlds, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation working on commercialising kids content for the pub broadcaster, and finally spent the last wonderful 6 years in the house of mouse. Katie’s new role as Director, Content Planning involves working across the entire Disney business including Channels, Studios & DCP on all their content marketing to ensure we have a single view of content for our Australian & New Zealand consumers. The content teams for Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD now report into this new role. She’s also a beekeeper.
