Rick Clodfelter is the Senior Director of Content Strategy and Acquisitions for Universal Kids, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s network for kids 2-12. In his role, Clodfelter sources and acquires programming and identifies content partnerships necessary to build the channel brands across all platforms. He also assists with the long term strategic planning by negotiating and securing rights when appropriate content is identified. He represents the U.S. network at all major programming markets including MIPTV, MIPCOM, and Kidscreen Summit.
Clodfelter is formerly director, content acquisitions and co-productions for Cartoon Network and Boomerang. In this capacity, Clodfelter was responsible for acquiring pre-produced series, specials, short-form product and series co- productions that fit the Cartoon Network and Boomerang brands for exposure on all platforms.
Previously, Clodfelter was manager of programming and scheduling for the Discovery Kids Channel. In this position, he developed program scheduling strategies that supported current and long-term programming plans for the Discovery Kids Channel, Ready Set Learn on TLC and Discovery Kids on NBC.
Clodfelter earned a bachelor’s of science degree in elementary education and a bachelor’s of arts degree in music from Culver-Stockton College and a master’s of arts in teaching from Webster University.
