Maija Arponen brings together a hands-on knowledge of working with children and families, a thorough understanding of premium narrative content and a thirst for high quality art. Maija is focused on using children’s content to foster large scale behavioural change both in viewers and creators: She strives to use her varied background for the common good. Maija works as the Head of Development at Haruworks, a Finnish animation production company.
Prior to joining Haruworks Maija has worked as a licensed psychologist for families and children in various settings, including hospital, school, family guidance and refugee camps. She has also steered a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Meanwhile she has developed a parallel career as a modern glass artist.
