Sesame Workshop

Kay Wilson Stallings serves Senior Vice President of Creative Development at Sesame Workshop.

In this role, Wilson Stallings oversees development and production for original content for multiple platforms.  During her time, she has shepherded specials and series such as the multi-Emmy nominatedEsme and Roy, the first new series produced by the Workshop in nearly a decade.

In 2017, Wilson Stallings created and directed the first annual Sesame Street Writers Room, an intensive six-week competitive fellowship program dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and increasing the presence of writers with diverse voices in children’s media.  Held at Sesame Workshop’s New York City office, participants selected come from across the country to meet weekly with industry writers, producers, agents and executives, with two winners offered creative development deals annually.  Upon completing the program, many participants find staff positions on kids’ series for production companies like Netflix, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, and more.

Wilson Stallings developed and helped launch more than 20 series, including preschool hits Blaze and the Monster Machines, Shimmer and Shine, Wallykazam, Wonder Pets, LazyTown, Yo Gabba Gabba! and Fresh Beat Band.
