As Chief Creative Officer, Television, for DreamWorks Animation, Gal oversees development, preschool, casting, music, current series and creative talent management for the studio’s rapidly growing slate of original series, including the content for DreamWorks’ groundbreaking multi-year deal with Netflix as well as Peacock, Amazon, Hulu, Universal Kids and other leading broadcasters around the world.
A seven year veteran of DreamWorks, Gal previously served as Executive Vice President of Development for the television business. As part of the studio’s global initiatives, Gal and his creative team are tasked with developing original animated programming inspired by characters from DreamWorks’ iconic franchises and upcoming features, Universal Pictures films and projects based on original and acquired IP. Among the series Gal has developed at DWA are a reimagining of the pop culture phenomenon She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Voltron Legendary Defender, All Hail King Julien, Spirit Riding Free, Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, The Boss Baby: Back in Business, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, the recently released Fast & Furious: Spy Racers and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.
Prior to joining DreamWorks Animation, Gal spent three years as Vice President, Production at 20th Century Fox Animation, and five years at Nickelodeon, where he was Vice President of Animation Development and developed such original animated series asPenguins of Madagascar, Mighty B!, andEl Tigre.Gal has also been a development executive at both Walt Disney Animation Television and Disney Channel. He holds a BA from Tufts University and a JD from the University of California’s Hastings College of Law.
