As Senior Vice President of Television Development for DreamWorks Animation, Ben Cawood and his team are charged with the creative development of a rapidly growing slate of original television projects, including the content for DWA TV’s groundbreaking multi-year deal with Netflix as well as Amazon, Hulu, Universal Kids and other leading broadcasters around the world. As part of the studio’s global initiatives, Cawood and his team are tasked with developing original animated programming inspired by characters from DreamWorks Animation’s iconic franchises and upcoming feature films, the company’s vast Classic Media library, Universal Pictures in addition to projects based on original ideas and acquired IP.
Reporting to Chief Creative Officer of Television Peter Gal, Cawood is responsible for developing several flagship series including the upcoming Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Fast and Furious: Spy Racers, as well as current hits like, The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants and Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters. Prior to his development role, he was Executive-in-Charge on the Emmy-winning series All Hail King Julien and Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh.
