Verdell Walker is the Head of Kids Audio Content at Spotify. In this role, she oversees the development and production of original audio content for the growing kids vertical on Spotify. She is responsible for developing and executing the programming strategy for original audio content made for kids aged 3-9.
Prior to joining Spotify, Walker worked as a global marketing manager at Mattel on the Thomas & Friends brand where she oversaw global brand strategy and franchise planning, as well as content marketing for the Thomas & Friends series in the U.S. and global markets. She also created and managed the popular Thomas & Friends Storytime podcast as well as a successful content partnership with leading wellness app Calm.
Walker previously served as director of strategy at Sesame Workshop, where she helped develop long term commercial, content, and philanthropic strategy for international editions of Sesame Street, including Takalani Sesame. Early in her career, Walker held roles in ad sales strategy at The Wall Street Journal and healthcare equity research at Goldman Sachs.
Walker received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Middle Eastern Studies from Trinity College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
