Erika is the Director of Programming and Acquisitions for HITN Television and Digital Services. In that capacity, Erika is responsible for designing the content strategy and securing programming rights for all of HITN services, including HITN Linear TV channel, that reaches 44 million homes across the nation, as well as for HITN OTT platform and for Edye, the first premium preschool SVOD service in Spanish-language for the US and Latin America.
Erika is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with the most important content producers and distributors from around the world, including companies like BBC, Sesame Workshop, National Geographic, Discovery Networks, the Jim Henson Company, 9 Story, WildBrain and many others.
Erika also supervises HITN production unit which creates over 300 hours of original content per year. Recently, she oversaw the executive production of Vida y Salud, a health and wellbeing magazine format in coproduction with TV Azteca from Mexico. As part of this production, over 50 hours of content focusing on pregnancy and first year of children’s life where created.
Before joining HITN, Erika was responsible for managing the content research unit at BeIN Sports. Earlier in her career she was part of the research team for Discovery Networks Latin America and US Hispanic. Erika was Director of Content Research for Vme Media, the first Public Television broadcaster in Spanish-language in the United States.
Erika started her career as a member of the research units for Univision and Spanish Broadcasting System.
Erika is recognized as a leader in her field. She is frequently interviewed by specialized publications and she has been a speaker at major industry conferences, including Kidscreen. Erika has also been a judge for the International Children’s Emmys.
Erika holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communications by Florida University and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
