Amanda Lorber (she/her) is Director, development for Disney Television Animation. As such, Amanda guides original series through the development process, from pitch to pilot delivery. She works in tandem with show creators to develop story, create worlds, shape design, and lock casting, music, and animation to move shows forward for series consideration.
Amanda joined Disney in 2019 as a manager of development and grew within the team after establishing herself as an always-on, solution-oriented, comedy-forward executive who loves hyphened descriptors almost as much as she loves talent and efficient storytelling.
She began her career in 2012 as a feature animation assistant and spent subsequent years at production companies in other entertainment spheres, including independent film and the YA space. For three years at TBS, she immersed herself in live-action and adult animation, working on groundbreaking and genre-flipping shows like Final Space, Close Enough, and Search Party, before being drawn back into the alluring world of kids and family animation.
Amanda received a bachelor of fine arts in Dramatic Writing and Film Production from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
She loves sushi, horror movies, her fiancé (contractually obligated to say this), her rescue dog Buffy, Broadway musicals, Animal Crossing, and improv.
