As Director of Original Programming, Jamie Piekarz has played an integral role in the creation, development and production of a variety of programs including: Mike the Knight, Babar and the Adventures of Badou, My Friend Rabbit,and 4 Square. Some of her production executive credits include: Mr. Young, Some Assembly Required, My Big Big Friend, Max and Ruby, The Cat in the Hat Knows About That!, Franklin,and Toopy and Binoo among others.
Jamie joined the Corus team in 1997. She went over and above her regular responsibilities, playing a key role in the marketing and development of preschool channel Treehouse, as well as organizing stage shows and live appearances in support of various properties.
As a graduate of the Master’s program in Educational Technology at Concordia University, Jamie has a strong knowledge of how to reach young people effectively. Her experience as an educational consultant and evaluator of environmental and historical programs for schools nationwide has also given her an in-depth understanding of children’s education.
Jamie sits on the board for CORPUS dance company, has been cochair of the Juno Awards’ “Best Children’s Album” steering committee since 2000, and regularly volunteers for international development projects overseas.
