Julia Donaldson

Julia Donaldson has written many picture books and novels for young readers, which have earned her international acclaim, including The Gruffalo. Her dedication to children’s literature has also earned her the role as the UK Children’s Laureate for 2012. In April 2013, Scholastic published The Highway Rat, a picture book by Donaldson about a wickedly lovable villain who gets his just desserts. Other books written by Julia Donaldson published by Scholastic include A Gold Star for Zog, Tabby McTat, Stick Man and The Fish Who Cried Wolf.  Before she became an author, Julia wrote songs for children’s television, and she still writes songs about the characters in her books. Julia Donaldson lives in Glasgow, Scotland, with her husband, Malcolm.
