For nearly 20 years, Matt has been creating transformative experiences by innovating and launching new brands and companies focused on activating play to make our lives happier, healthier and more vibrant. Matt is currently the Chief Gaming Officer of Conteneo, an innovative company dedicated to using the science of social play to super power epic wins for organizations of all sizes.
Prior to Conteneo, he was Chief Strategist at Speck Design; SVP of Scholastic; President of Klutz; and VP of Business Development and VP of Internet Division at LeapFrog. In between those gigs, he started a couple companies including Primordial, creator of Zoob; and big BOING, an integrated strategy and development company that partnered with Toys R Us, Nickelodeon, Hasbro, Coca Cola, Kraft, Learning Curve and others to launch or revitalize major domestic and international brands. He clerked for Judge Oliver Seth in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, which means he used to be an attorney, but don’t hold that against him. He has spoken at conferences, lectured at universities and written for magazines. Matt is an advisor for PBS Kids, GoAnimate and Power Play. Matt lives in Berkeley, CA with his wife, daughter and 3 dogs. Matt and his daughter are trying to visit all 50 state capitals. Boise is next!
