Mercury Filmworks

As Vice President, Original Series & Co-Production, Chantal Ling specializes in proprietary content and co-productions. She works directly with Mercury’s international partners to develop, finance, and co-produce properties that are considered the benchmark in television animation. During her tenure with Mercury Filmworks, some of her producing credits include Hilda with Silvergate Media and NETFLIX; If You Give A Mouse A Cookie for Amazon; Atomic Puppet, a Mercury Filmworks co-production with Technicolor and Gaumont Animation; and Team Hot Wheels for Mattel’s Playground Productions.

Ling joined Mercury Filmworks in 2012 as a supervising producer, following an 8-year career with Amberwood Entertainment where she served as Executive Vice-President. She brought to Mercury Filmworks an outstanding track record for the production of children’s content, including The Secret World of Benjamin Bear for Family Channel; The Snow Queen for BBC and CBC; Rollbots for YTV; and Rob the Robot for TVO.

Ling’s two decades of experience has earned her multiple award nominations and wins. Hilda  (Season 2) won a 2020 Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Animated Series. Hilda (Season 1), won a 2019 Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title, a BAFTA Award for Best Children’s Animation, and Annie Awards for Best Animated Series, Best Character Animation in an Animated Series, and Best Writing in an Animated Series. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie was nominated for a 2018 Emmy Award for Best Preschool Series. In 2007, The Snow Queen was the winner of The Alliance for Children and Television Awards of Excellence, All Genres Category, Ages 9-12, and a Shaw Rocket Prize Finalist. Rob the Robot was nominated for two 2011 Gemini Awards for Best Direction in an Animated Series and Best Original Score in an Animated Program. And, Rollbots took the 2009 Gemini Award for Best Direction in an Animated Series, and was nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Animated Series and Best Musical Score in an Animated Series.
