Kidscreen promotes the values of equality, acceptance and respect, and we denounce any and all legislation that marginalizes the LGBTQ+ community.

Members of the kids entertainment industry who share our values and similarly oppose the passing of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Bill (more commonly known as the “Don’t Say Gay” Bill) will have an opportunity to join us in supporting the kids and families who stand to be directly affected.

Drawing from the registration fees we receive for Kidscreen Summit 2023 (February 12-15, Miami), we pledge to donate US$10,000 to Pridelines, a Miami-based non-profit organization that has been supporting, educating, empowering and improving the lives of LGBTQ+ youth in South Florida for 40 years. This donation represents the top level of membership support that Pridelines offers, and it will be made at the close of the Summit in February. Any organization or individual interested in adding to it is encouraged to reach out to Kidscreen SVP & Publisher Jocelyn Christie by email jchristie@brunico.com.

If you would prefer to register your opposition and/or support the LGBTQ+ youth community in another way, this article lists several great options ranging in focus from local to national.

Looking ahead to the future, we are actively searching for an alternative location for Kidscreen Summit. Unfortunately, venues for large events like ours are limited and typically secured several years in advance, so lack of availability may prevent us from orchestrating a move as quickly as we’d like. But rest assured that we will continue to explore all options that would be a good fit.
