Megan Townsend is a content adviser and communications professional with 10+ years' experience in story analysis, data insights, strategic communication, project management, and scalable collaboration.

In her current role as GLAAD's Senior Director of Entertainment Research and Analysis, she has overseen the management of all aspects of the creation, evolution, and release of 25+ internationally recognized studies on inclusion in film and TV. Megan shapes the conversation on LGBTQ representation through developing research-backed communication strategies and building trusted relationships with network and studio executives as well as writers, directors, and performers as a thought leader and creative partner.

A sought-after commentator and consultant, Megan has appeared in several outlets including LA Times, Associated Press, The Wrap, Variety, and OUT, and has provided cultural expertise to series and films including Disney Channel’s history-making series The Owl House and Andi Mack, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Strange World, Freeform’s Shadowhunters, The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and many more.

Megan lives in Los Angeles and is a graduate of Central Michigan University.
