Athena Georgaklis, a highly respected animation executive, leads the acquisition of rights and the development of all original content for Nelvana. Committed to developing creator-driven content, working with the studio’s producers, creators, and talent that will resonate with all age groups, in all markets. She helmed the creation of The Most Magnificent Thing, DNAce, Agent Binky: Pets of the Universe Ready for Space Travel, and The Hardy Boys live-action series.
Athena has worked in Canadian production for over 22 years. Before Nelvana, she oversaw all original animation production for Corus’ kids networks, supervising the development and production of content in both languages. During her time, she worked on hit shows like Johnny Test, Camp Lakebottom, Mysticons, 6TEEN, and the Total Drama Island franchise.
