Francesca Newington is the Director of POP Channels at Narrative Entertainment in the UK - overseeing content acquisitions, programming and development strategy across linear OTA channels POP, Tiny Pop & POP Max, the digital AVOD service POP Player and newly launched FAST channel, POP Kids.
Francesca sources and negotiates content acquisition whilst identifying new growth opportunities within the portfolio, including in-house content creation, brand development strategies and co-production/commissioning.
Having joined the POP channels in 2006, Francesca saw them through their sale to Sony Pictures Television in 2014. After becoming Head of Kids’ Networks, she steadily grew their portfolio resulting in POP becoming the number 1 commercial kids’ broadcaster in the UK. Francesca returned to the channel group in 2021 after they were acquired by Narrative Entertainment.
Prior to joining the POP channels, Francesca spent 4 years working in children’s TV production on series including Art Attack!
