Lorena Táboas

Media Relations Manager

Common Sense Media

Lorena Táboas is the Media Relations Manager at Common Sense Media, where she works with the press to highlight the organization's efforts of making the digital world better for kids and families. She also hosts Common Sense Explains, a new YouTube series that spotlights thought leaders and technology trends in the kids and family space.

Prior to joining Common Sense Media, Lorena was a producer at Univision for over a decade. Here, she led the content production of various award-winning social impact campaigns, launched the company’s first state-wide newscast in California and won an Emmy Award for her role as Executive Producer of the 2018 Midterm Election Day coverage in California.

Lorena’s priority as a producer was to transform each of her newscasts into a space where the Hispanic community could feel empowered with the resources and information they needed to succeed. She often reported on stories focused on education, parenting and kids’ health.

Lorena graduated from the University of Miami with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and International Studies. She also studied at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
